Fourth Congressional District DFL

The New Congressional District 4 needs YOU! Please consider becoming a leader in the party that is leading the struggle for a better Minnesota. The Nominations committee will be screening people that are interested in being leaders in our Congressional and Ramsey County party units as well as representatives on the State DFL Commissions. We are looking for people that would like to help not only win in November, but also help maintain and build our Party organization. Specialized skills like accounting, database administration and communication are always needed.

We will be interviewing candidates for:
4th CD DFL Chair, Associate Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, & Affirmative Action Officer
4th CD DFL Directors
Ramsey County DFL Chair and 2 Associate Chairs
Members and Alternates to the State DFL Party Commissions (Affirmative Action, Constitution and Bylaw, Platform)

All delegates and alternates are encouraged to run for pre-convention committees at the end of their Senate District conventions. Organizing a convention with almost 400 delegates and alternates takes a lot of work and planning. Your help is needed! The following committees need your help:

• Rules and Constitution – proposes changes in the CD4 DFL Party Constitution; proposes convention agenda and rules
• Credentials – reviews delegations from each SD to ensure compliance with rules; prepares badges, sign-in materials, etc.
• Arrangements – takes care of table rental, facility setup, concessions, disability accommodations, seating chart, etc.
• Candidate Information – prepares written questions for candidates seeking endorsement for public office
• Nominations – screens candidates seeking various party offices and makes recommendations to the convention
• Resolutions – provide for consideration of petition resolutions

If you wish to serve in a Fourth Congressional District Party Position (Chair, Associate Chair, Treasurer, Secretary, Affirmative Action Officer, Director), as a member of the State DFL Affirmative Action, Constitution & By-Laws, or Platform & Issues, or as Ramsey County Chair, Secretary or Treasurer, you should screen before the CD4 Nominations Committee.

All Delegates and Alternates elected to the State Convention and who reside in Ramsey County serve as Delegates and Alternates to this Convention.

The Official Agenda will be adopted by the convention after a proposal from the Rules Committee. The agenda will include endorsement of candidates for Ramsey County Conservation Board, in addition to the election of Ramsey County Officers.

The Coordinated Campaign is organizing a statewide Weekend of MAKtion the weekend of July 10th and 11th, and we need 250 volunteers to hit the doors and phones to talk to key voters about our great team of DFL-Endorsed Candidates!  Below is a list of volunteer opportunities around the Fourth District.  If your district is not listed, let us know that you are interested, and we can connect you with your local organizer.
